Dedicated to the memory of Christine Moore

My amazing nan sadly passed away on 26th January, after being diagnosed with bladder cancer in April 2020.  After a successful cystectomy in June, she went on to have seven more months with the family. During this time nan was surrounded by so much love and care from her family and friends. I am so proud of my grandad and my mum for staying strong through this challenging time and very thankful to their wonderful neighbours, Donna and Kenny and Jo and Dave for everything they did to help support my grandparents.

Nan wanted to spend her last few weeks at home in the comfort of her family and without the immense support and care given by the ECL Care Agency, the staff and nurses at St. Luke’s Hospice and the Marie Curie nurses, we wouldn’t have been able to have our lovely wife, mum, nan and friend at home with us in her final days. My uncle flew in from Denmark to be with nan, which made her day knowing that she was surrounded by her family and that we were altogether just like she wanted.

Nan was a happy exuberant character who was the life and sole of the party and a ray of sunshine for us all, lighting up any room with her infectious happiness.  She touched so many lives with her warmth, love and spirit and the world is a duller place without her.  She would have wanted us to celebrate her life.  Unfortunately due to the current restrictions, we can only invite a small number of people to the funeral, however rest assured that we will hold a memorial in the summer and raise a glass to an amazing person. We love you Nan and you will always be in our hearts!

Instead of flowers we would like to ask for donations to St Luke’s Hospice, so that they can continue to provide the same support that they offered us for other families.
